Fundamentals of Wireless LANs

 This course is being offered by Box Hill Institute in conjunction with Cisco Systems.  As organizations increasingly depend on wireless technologies in their everyday practices, the Fundamentals of Wireless LANs course teaches students to develop, implement, and troubleshoot wireless networks. This  hands-on, skills-based course focuses on the design, planning, implementation, operation, and troubleshooting of wireless networks. It covers a comprehensive overview of technologies, security, and design best practices.

The course covers the following areas:

  • Wireless LAN setup & troubleshooting
  • 802.11a & 802.11b technologies, products and solutions
  • Site Surveys
  • Resilient WLAN design, installation and configuration
  • WLAN Security - 802.1x, EAP, LEAP, WEP, SSID
  • Vendor interoperability strategies
  • Wireless bridging

Industry-Recognised Certifications

Fundamentals of Wireless LANs course helps students to achieve the Cisco Wireless LAN Support Specialist designation (WLANFE).

Refund and Transfers

 

  • Applications for refunds and transfers will be accepted if a request is received at least five (5) working days prior to date of course commencement.  (A standard handling charge of $30 will apply for all transfers.  There will be a 25% administration fee for all withdrawals from a course).  A full refund is given only if the class is cancelled.
  • No refunds once course has commenced.
