The Cisco Systems Networking Academy Program:

Cisco Certified Networking Associate (CCNA)

CCNA course outlines

The Cisco Networking Academy offers a comprehensive pathway to CCNA certification. This program prepares the learner for the CCNA certification exam.

The CCNA Exploration pathway provides four units arranged into homogenous study areas. This is a more traditional approach to education and training, focusing on a complete treatment of each study area separately.

Unit 1: Network Fundamentals
Introduces the learner to network components and protocols through the OSI and TCP/IP models.

Unit 2: Routing Protocols and Concepts
This unit focuses on the protocols and strategies that enable routers to direct traffic across global internetworks.

Unit 3: LAN Switching and Wireless
Here the learner is introduced to switching for both physical Local Area Networks and Virtual Local Area Networks.

Unit 4: Accessing the WAN
This final unit examines the technologies and protocols that are used in long distance internetwork connectivity use in Wide Area Networks.

Certification Examination

This examination is conducted through a partnership agreement with and under the quality assurance program of Pearson-VUE in order to provide participants with internationally recognised Cisco Certification.

Certification exams are not an integral part of the training; they are separate exams, but are available at Box Hill Institute as a student service.
