Cisco Systems Networking Academy training programs delivered at Secondary Schools and Colleges are designed for the teenage learner. They are offered as extra curricula training programs or are integrated into mainstream courses. Some secondary schools or colleges also offer adult training session which are modelled on the TAFE program. |

Secondary school programs are usually offered as an adjunct to information technology units or are integrated into those units. These programs are not in competition with commercial Cisco training providers which offer intensive short courses of 5 to 10 days duration. |

Commercial training programs would, in most cases, not be suitable for young learners. Secondary school Cisco training is aimed at augmenting the school exit skills of youngsters who wish to enter the work force directly or to provide youngsters with a skill advantage when they advance to tertiary studies.

Cisco training is conducted in a mixed delivery mode which includes mini-lectures, teacher-assisted on-line learning and practical exercises. Typically at secondary schools, sessions will be 1 to 2 hours where 2 hour sessions are broken into sub-lessons which each comprise a mixture of the above teaching methods. For information about schools that deliver Cisco training at secondary level, refer to the Local Academies Page. |
